With this release, Lenton Brae celebrates 25 consecutive vintages of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and can justifiably claim to be one of Margaret River’s leading exponents of this popular wine style.
The 2011 vintage was warm and dry providing perfect conditions for the early-ripening varieties of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. As with previous releases, the majority was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and vitality and at cool temperatures facilitating a gradual conversion of sugar into alcohol by selected yeasts. 8% was barrel fermented in new French oak.
This years blend is 50% Semillon 50% Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauvignon Blanc contributes aromatic elements with the Semillon providing the weight and depth of flavour on the palate.
We encourage consumption within the first 2 years of vintage, though under appropriate cellaring conditions, the wine will soften and develop the honeyed, toasty characters of bottle age.
Bottled in April, 2011.
Since 1996, the Lenton Brae Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon has been awarded 7 trophies and 11 gold medals at regional, state and national competitions.

" This is the 25th anniversary wine of Lenton Brae SSB – so three cheers for them. They’ve knocked out a good one too.
Some tomato bush and capsicum spice but not pungent or obnoxious, it’s just varietal seasoning here. There’s passionfruit, grapefruit and spice on a light fresh zesty palate that has good focus and a decisive finish (many go a little limp at the last). Verve, balance and low artifice. Vinous and refreshing – a top example of the regional style."

"Quite a robust, fleshy blended wine that marks the 25th vintage of this classic Margaret River style.
Heaps of intense, ripe flavours burst from the glass, with a soft fine acid thet you might expect from this vintage. Has a lip-smacking finish with a fresh crunchiness. It is largely a 50:50 blend, with a small amount of barrel fermented fruit in new French oak. It is a very drinkable wine."
