Shiraz 2009
SOLD OUT

|
This vintage is only the third Margaret River Shiraz produced by Lenton Brae.
It combines the best attributes of the two previous attempts; both of which were gold medal winners displaying the weight and texture of 2007 with the aromatics and vibrancy of 2008.
The season was warm and dry with harvest dates for all varieties earlier than usual. The shiraz vines in particular, benefited from this warmth and attained full ripeness; a feat not always possible for this variety in Margaret River.
The wine is of medium body, with a supple, juicy texture. Its soft tannins make the wine approachable now, though the wine has the fruit intensity to allow cellaring for up to five years.
Bottled July 2010.
Price: $35.00
"Convincing crimson -purple; a complex and textured wine with spice, pepper and savoury overtones to bouquet and medium-bodied palate alike; fine persistant tannins offset against black cherry and blackberry fruit provide balance."
