OCT 2007 Lenton Brae celebrates 21 yrs of SSB
In 1987 Lenton Brae began a commitment to developing the now renowned Margaret River signature blend; Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, which was celebrated in October with a formal “retro” tasting of the previous vintages.
High profile Australian wine critic Max Allen, along with 30 other invited media and friends of Lenton Brae sipped their way through all back vintages as well as the current 2007 vintage of the Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Although better known for its freshness as a drink now style rather than for its ageing potential, the tasting provided an interesting profile of the style over 21 years. Not suprisingly, those wines sealed under screwcap faired better than those under cork.
