This chardonnay is sourced from fruit grown on the estate vineyard in Wilyabrup. It offers a contrast to the Lenton Brae estate Chardonnay, in being slightly more open and accessible.
Partial 'wild' primary and malo-lactic fermentation has softened the wines natural acidity and added a creamy, complexity to the wine.
This wine will appease those looking for a richer, fuller style of Chardonnay and will drink well in the short to medium term.
Bottled February 2011.
Price: $25.00
"Pale quartz-green; produced from 26 year old estate grown vines; fermented in a mix of new and used french oak barrels; a very precise wine in the heartland of the Lenton Brae style, with tangy grapefruit leading white peach fruit."
